Innovation from Tyrol

22.11.2023

In cooperation with the medical technology manufacturer Leonard Lang GmbH from Innsbruck, Dessl Maschinenbau GmbH from Stans was able to develop a robot-assisted production system for electrodes for defibrillators. The use of three 6-axis robots from Stäubli Robotics has revolutionized the production process, which was previously carried out using intensive manual work.

Leonard Lang GmbH is one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical electrodes and was looking for a partner to automate the production process. Dessl Maschinenbau was chosen due to its decades of experience in the automation of pharmaceutical companies and its location in Tyrol.

The new SP-MON 021 system enables Leonard Lang GmbH to relieve its employees of the complex but monotonous process of assembling the defibrillator pads and increase output. However, the system does more than just assemble the electrodes. The functional test also takes place fully automatically within the machine. At the end, Leonard Lang receives a complete and certified medical product.
